An ideal choice for tailoring a suit or blazer, as this velvet is substantial, non-stretch, tightly woven and matte. Velour is a thin variety of velvet. It has on one side a low, soft and fluffy pile, often called nap. Most fabrics are made by interlacing two yarns in a way specific to their type. In the case of velvets, there are an additional four yarns that create the pile. They are introduced between the two main yarns as either cut loops (cut pile velvet) or uncut loops (looped pile velvet). It is precisely this construction that makes the material so soft and very pleasant to the touch.
