Italian velvet-type fabric in gray. A 100% natural fabric woven from cotton with a characteristic, very short pile. An ideal choice for sewing a suit or blazer, as the velvet is substantial, non-stretch with a tight weave and a matte finish. It can also be widely used in interior decoration, for example for making curtains or cushions.

Velour is a thin variety of velvet. On one side it has a low, soft and fluffy pile, often called nap. Most fabric types are produced by interlacing two threads in a way specific to them. In the case of velvets, there are an additional four threads that create the pile. These are introduced between the two main threads as cut loops (sheared velvet) or uncut loops (looped velvet). It is precisely because of this that the material is so soft and very pleasant to the touch.
