Tencel, although not new on the market, is only gaining popularity. The material was created with the needs of conscious customers who want real changes in the world of fashion. Designers and clothing brands are increasingly turning to this amazing material, which is called the fiber of the future due to its extraordinary properties.
How is it formed?
Tencel is obtained from wood cellulose, and more specifically from eucalyptus bark. The production process looks similar to viscose - the fibers are obtained from dissolved wood pulp cellulose. It differs in the use of ecological solutions in the process of washing fibers. Substances that dissolve cellulose, in the case of viscose are corrosive substances, in the case of tencel a non-toxic and biodegradable solvent is used, which is safe for us and for the environment. Tencel is therefore a 100% natural and 100% biodegradable material.
Properties and application
Tencel is an extremely durable fabric and will work in all conditions – both at high temperatures and low. It is suitable for hot days, as it is properly laid out on the body, giving a delicate shine to the fabric. To the touch, it resembles velvet material, it makes it perfectly combined with the skin and breathes very well. Each fiber of this material absorbs moisture, making it so that we do not feel sweat on the skin. It has excellent thermal regulation properties. Tencel nanofibers are smooth and have low rigidity. Thanks to this, the material to the touch is delicate and friendly to the skin, especially sensitive, which requires a unique approach. In addition, it is confirmed that it does not cause irritation and significantly prevents the formation and growth of bacteria. It naturally combines the many advantages of other fibers: it is as delicate as silk, warm as wool and strong as polyester, cools like linen and is absorbent like cotton. Tencel is a material that can be mixed with any fibers. In our wholesale you can buy tencel with flax. Thanks to this mixture, the material is even more pleasant to the touch, even more durable and does not crease like the linen itself.
Tencel is mainly used in the production of bedding, sheets, mattresses and underwear. The production of tencel is a unique example of the fact that modern technologies go hand in hand with ecology. Tencel is definitely an investment for years!
Laundry
Washing lyocell is very simple. The fabric does not require any special care. Tencel is machine washable and tumble dry. If there are no other recommendations on the label, clothes made of lyocell can be washed at temperatures up to 60°C.
