What is bourette silk?

Bourette fabric is raw silk made from combs and cocoons of the mulberry silkworm. It is similar to linen fabrics, but retains all the basic properties of silk. However, it is nobler than linen fabrics - you crumple less. At the same time, it is slightly rough and retains its rustic appearance. Silk gives it a noble shine.
