Italian velvet-type fabric in navy blue. The fabric is woven from cotton and elastane with a characteristic very short nap. The material has a width of 110 cm, is matte and highly elastic. An ideal option for sewing a suit or jacket, as velvet is substantial with a tight weave. It can also have broad applications in interior decoration, e.g. for sewing curtains or cushions.

Composition: 80% cotton, 20% elastane

Velvet is a thinner variant of plush. It has on one side a low, soft and fluffy hair covering, often called a nap. Most fabric types are produced by interweaving in a way specific to them two threads. In the case of velvets, there are four additional threads forming the pile. They are inserted between the two main threads either in the form of cut (sculpted velvet) or uncut (loop velvet) loops. It is precisely thanks to this that the material is so soft and very pleasant to touch. Due to the particular weaving method, it also stands out with a deep luster and a beautiful reflection of light!
